There are firms in which the greatest decreases in productivity are not caused by workers who are playing computer games or doing personal chores instead of working but instead from staff members who are suffering from the distractions caused by office noise. It is especially the discussions between other employees which don’t relate to any work activities which are disruptive to the focus and concentration of their co-workers.

Most offices are not acoustically sound enough for employees to comfortably have phone or interpersonal conversations without their talking being a distraction to nearby employees. The short walls of cubicles combined with the less than ideal workspace placement of employees in a sometimes cramped area can foster the spread of office noise, which can become a big issue in a small space.

For offices dealing with office noise, the consequences of leaving the problem unchecked can manifest itself in the cost to the company. Often, the noise can take other nearby employees off of their work, which can lower productivity in the office even further. That lost productivity may not seem like much at the time that it happens, but constant workflow interruptions can result in a significant hit to your bottom line.

To eliminate the significant decrease in productivity due to inevitable office noise, lot of firms are utilizing office sound masking devices. They mask annoying distractions by supplementing them with an unstructured sort of background hum, which noticeably increases the conversational privacy of the workplace. This has proven to make virtually all office employees more productive to one level or another.

If your concern is office noise, or keeping conversations out of the public earshot, consider a speech privacy system. Once in place, this cone of silence will lock in private discussions, and keep the noise away from the other employees trying to do their jobs.

If you’re in a noisy office, be aware that such an office space can be a great loss of productivity, and consequently be a loss of money to the company. Taking the time to put in place sound masking or speech privacy systems in an office not only create a better work environment for all workers, but can ensure that your employees are on task and doing their jobs well.

Many companies have started using Office Sound Masking Systems to address the loss of productivity resulting from noise. If your concern is office noise, or keeping conversations out of the public earshot, consider a speech privacy system. Once in place, this will lock in private discussions, and keep the noise away from the other employees trying to do their jobs. A noisy office can contribute to loss of productivity, costing your company money. If you take the time to have a masking or privacy system installed, this will make the work environment more pleasant for everyone in the office..
