If you happen to have a basement, you may have been letting some good space go to waste. But if you start making use of your basement, you’ll suddenly have a lot of extra room in your house. Sure, the basement is partially underground and it may not have the best lighting, but there are a variety of different things you can do with a basement. Are you ready to do some basement decorating? Here are some ideas to get you started.

Idea #1 – A Play Room – This is a great idea to consider if you have kids: Transform your basement into one giant play room for them. If you get sick and tired of dealing with all the toys that litter the floor of your children’s rooms, you may want to think about turning the basement into a “no clean zone” where they can play as much as they want. Like the sound of that? Chances are your children will LOVE it.

Idea #2 – Game Room – But maybe you’d rather make the basement a place for the whole family. So here’s an idea for basement decorating: Turn it into a game room. It’s easy. Just add a pool table (every large game room should have one!), drop lights, an air hockey table, or some other games to create a fun room where the whole family can hang out.

Idea #3 – A Home Gym – Maybe you’ve been meaning to go to the gym, but you never seem to have time. Maybe you just hate going. Well, how about turning your basement into a personal gym? You can add some gym equipment to the room, a radio and TV to work out with, and you’ll be all set. So this way you have a basement that’s actually useful and helping you shed some extra weight, too.

As you can see, there are many great basement decorating ideas for you to consider. Pick an idea that suits you and then start turning your basement into something that is exciting and fun for the whole family.
